Biography
Dr. Ruksheda Syeda is a distinguished psychiatrist and psychotherapist with nearly three decades of clinical experience in mental health care. As the Founder of Trellis Family Centre in Mumbai, she has dedicated her career to creating safe, inclusive, and healing spaces for individuals, couples, and families. Renowned for her compassionate and holistic approach, Dr. Syeda integrates evidence-based psychiatric care with deep empathy, tailoring treatment to each person's unique emotional, psychological, and lifestyle needs.
Her clinical interests include women's mental health, young adult well-being, family psychiatry, and psychosocial rehabilitation. Beyond her clinical work, she is a respected leader in the mental health community, having served as President of the Bombay Psychiatric Society and Chair of the Women & Mental Health Section of the Indian Psychiatric Society. Through public education, advocacy, and TEDx engagements, she continues to champion mental health awareness, resilience, and stigma-free care.
