Sindhu Upadhyay Wadhwa is a Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, and the Founder and Clinical Director of MindGuild Academy. With over 22 years of clinical experience, she has worked with individuals, couples, families, and organisations across a broad range of psychological, emotional, and relational concerns.

My work has always been rooted in one conviction: people are capable of far more than symptom management. Therapy, done well, creates lasting change.

Her practice integrates evidence-based psychotherapy, neuroscience, mindfulness, and culturally informed mental health approaches. Known equally for her clinical rigour and her ability to make complex psychological ideas genuinely accessible, Sindhu helps clients navigate mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity, and the particular pressures of high-functioning professional life. She works in close collaboration with senior psychiatrists to provide comprehensive psychopharmacological care for clients with severe mental illness.

Her Philosophy

How she thinks about psychological change.

Sindhu's therapeutic philosophy is grounded in a belief that distinguishes her approach from symptom-focused models of mental health care.

Emotional distress is often not a sign of weakness - it is a signal that existing ways of coping are no longer serving the individual effectively.

Her therapeutic approach focuses on understanding the deeper patterns influencing emotions, relationships, and life choices. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, attachment theory, neuroscience, and contemporary psychotherapy frameworks, she works collaboratively with clients to develop insight, emotional flexibility, resilience, and genuine psychological wellbeing.Therapy, in Sindhu's practice, is not about reducing symptoms and stopping there. It is about helping people build a stronger relationship with themselves and create lives that are meaningfully aligned with their values and aspirations.

Why she built MindGuild

The institution she wished had existed when she began.

MindGuild was not conceived as a business. It was conceived as a response to two decades of watching the same pattern repeat: talented, well-meaning psychology graduates entering clinical practice underprepared, not because they lacked intelligence or care, but because the system gave them no structured bridge from education to clinical readiness.

Having trained internationally, collaborated with leading psychiatrists, and spent over two decades building clinical depth through practice, supervision, and continuous learning, Sindhu understood both what that bridge needed to look like and why no one in India had built it yet.

MindGuild is the training I had to piece together across 22 years. We are building it so the next generation doesn't have to.

As Founder and Clinical Director, Sindhu leads the academic direction, clinical philosophy, and curriculum architecture of MindGuild with the long-term ambition of making it India's most respected institution for psychotherapy training and psychological leadership.
